English ?

Focused assessment of governance drivers and style  within a company or organisation, providing a targeted diagnostic against world best practices in organisation performance management.  The assessment is performed on two main dimensions:

The Governance Drivers model, embedding the PDCA (Plan- Do - Check - Act) in different governance practices, processes, systems and tools, starting from the strategy:

  • Steering – Including Vision, objective setting, KPI’s; mainly the PDCA 'Plan'
  • Driving – including action taking, decision making and priorities setting; mainly the PDCA 'Do'
  • Analysing – including Data reporting and Root cause analysis; mainly the PDCA 'Check'
  • Improving - including improvement and continuous development; mainly the PDCA 'Act'
  • Meeting – including management meeting structure, focus and context
  • Environment – which look at managerial environment and feedback loops
The Governance Style categorising the governance in four main styles:
  • Engagement: a balanced style, top-down, bottom-up and horizontal
  • Discussion: mainly bottom up and horizontal style
  • Autonomy: scarce communication and engagement between the top management and the operational units or employees
  • Directive: mainly top-down style

The assessment provides multi-level analysis on several axis: by individual or consolidated area of best practice, by organisation dimension (geographical location, department, production area, hierarchical level or any other dimension depending on your organisation), and by evaluator.

The assessment also includes a multi-dimensional module that provides a clear guidance on the current performance management environment in which the company operates and is perceived to be operating in (perceived by the evaluators)

The results are provided in a concise and detailed (if option selected) report with multiple graphs and allowing you to clearly identify areas of improvement, deep dive on results as well as perform internal or even external* benchmarks

World class Governance drivers and style models

Our models are built on practical experience of best practices

As with all Wevalgo off the shelf services, our modeld are built on the extensive management consulting experience of international production sites and facilities.

More than 60 best practices in our structured Governance and Communication style models

The models contains up to 67 questions, structured in 6 categories and 16 areas, each area includes 3 – 5 assessments and fully embeds the PDCA principles. This structure enables to identify strengths and improvement opportunities at different levels, from a high level and holistic view to a detailed view. It looks in depth at the controls and environment in place in the organisation and its maturity compared to best practices comparable across multiple sites and/or others in the same industries and other industries.

The Organisation Governance drivers model

Governance drivers

The model includes best practices on the following elements:
  • Steering – including Vision, objective setting, KPI’s and general performance management; mainly the PDCA 'Plan'

For each best practice, the question is very precise and the answers choices are almost systematically normed to facilitate the evaluation and mostly to avoid subjectivity

For example, some evaluations use a norm derived from CMMI; for others we have defined specific norms.

According to the practices, evaluation criteria used are, for example:

  • formalisation and detailed level,
  • quality and scope coverage,
  • people ownership and effective usage level,
  • roles and responsibilities clarity.

The Organisation Governance style model

Governance styles

The Governance style categorises which looks at what is the governance main style among four dimensions:
  • Engagement: a balanced style, top-down, bottom-up and horizontal
  • Discussion: mainly bottom up and horizontal style
  • Autonomy: scarce communication and engagement between the top management and the operational teams
  • Directive: mainly top-down style

Our model assesses the governance style in four main areas:
  • Communication: how are the general communication and the interaction between the management and operational teams performed?
  • Performance and improvement: how are the improvement initiatives or projects driven? How are the KPIs and the management reports managed?
  • Management meetings: how are they managed and coordinated?
